THE CHOPTANK TRIBUTARY TEAM is a group of concerned citizens, local government representatives, farmers, watermen, sportsmen, and business people who join together to promote wise stewardship of the watershed in which they live and work.

Using a watershed approach that crosses state and local boundaries, the Trib Team helps to:

  • identify sources of pollution
  • guide decisionmaking and policy
  • propose restoration activities
  • support Best Management Practices
  • and increase awareness

The mission of the Maryland Tributary Teams is to build consensus and advocate for policy solutions, to promote stewardship through education, and to coordinate activities and projects necessary to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay's water quality and assure healthy watersheds with abundant and diverse living resources.

May Trib Team Meeting

Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 9 at 6 p.m. at the Talbot DPW office on Bay St. in Easton. This is the last meeting before our exciting River Appreciation Week begins on May 28!

We’ll be reviewing the schedule of events for the Appreciation Week and finalizing the publicity efforts to inform the public about this Week.  This will also be the last formal meeting of the Choptank Trib Team.

Get Invloved River Appreciation Week

Join Trib Team members and people throughout Talbot County in a week of paddling and other activities centered around local rivers.  Kayak/paddling opportunities are the focal point, with 6 paddling events scheduled.  The finale for the week will be the San Domingo Creek Wade-In on Saturday June 1, followed by a picnic pot-luck, paddling on the San Domingo Creek, and a celebration of Doc's 90th Birthday.
